Umami Bowl Recipe
This is a variation on a breakfast/ lunch I have been eating as long as I can remember. It probably sounds super crazy but oh my gosh is it delicious and super nutritious!!
The basic premise of this bowl is an explosion of savory and satisfying umami flavor, along with something that is filling and easy to prepare with whatever you have in the kitchen.
It consists of:
Grains: Choose your favorite - brown rice, steel cut oats, quiona, cauliflower rice, whatever!
Veggies: I usually keep frozen veggies and steam them at the end of my rice cooker cycle - broccoli, edamame, spinach, or other things like tomatoes, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, etc.
Seeds: Top with pumpkin, sunflower, or your favorite seeds.
Dressing: YUM - I do a combo of nutritional yeast, soy sauce or braggs liquid aminos, lime juice or ume vinegar, and sesame oil. Sometimes I also add flax seed oil. Holy moly is it good! Experiment with it a few times to see how much of each ingredient you like.
That's that!
